Dec 14, 2010 · I am trying to design a slot ported box of about 9cuft net, the port will be 14"x4" and 41.75" long for the box tuning of 20Hz. There for my plan will be to have the port mouth on the front face below the driver and the slot port to run along the bottom edge of the box and then turn 90degrees and go up the back edge of the box.

I was wondering if it is possible to put a slotted port on a wedge design enclosure. i have a rf p2d412 12"sub and i am trying to save trunk space so i decided to go for a wedge design. and trying to make the enclosure as conservative as possible, yet i want to try to make a ported box. Working on a big sub design, have some questions about slot porting it. The slot is going to run down the long edge and open on one end, no bends or turns. 1) How much clearance does the inside of the slot port need from the wall? If the inside of the sub is 44" and the slot is 40" (so 4" clearance between the mount and the wall), is that okay?.
